We are delighted that our Founding Director and Co-Director, Anna Thomas, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List. We are hugely proud of all that Anna has achieved in the short time that IFOW has been running, and the extraordinary energy and passion she shows in driving our agenda, cross-party alliances and practical solutions to promote ‘good work’ and a more equitable future across the country.

“I am honoured to be receiving this award which is a huge credit to IFOW and every member of our team and partners. I am very proud of what IFOW has achieved in so few years, and its potential to inform and shape the future at a critical time. We look forward to supporting the new Government and helping to drive the best, most inclusive and most responsible outcomes from the transformation of work, business models and society as a whole. Huge thanks to my Co-Director Abby Gilbert, to Co-Founders Naomi Climer CBE and Professor Sir Christopher Pissarides, to the whole IFOW staff team, and to our wonderful trustees.”

“On behalf of the Board of the IFOW I would like to warmly congratulate our Co-Founder and Co-Director, Anna Thomas, on being awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List ‘For services to Research on the Future of Work.’ Anna brought her legal expertise to the role of Head of Policy for the 2018 Future of Work Commission and saw the urgent work that needed doing to help prepare for this technological transformation. Setting up IFOW, she has pioneered a new approach combining research, political action and work with businesses, propelling issues of ‘good work’ and action on AI governance to protect workers to the forefront of the policy agenda.”
