Automation affects different places and people in different ways; workplace technology can strip people of their autonomy and dignity; and the irresponsible use of data-driven technologies can amplify existing gender, socio-economic and race inequalities: these are just some of the ways technology can affect equality, dignity and autonomy at work. The IFOW’s Power programme works to ensure that technology is designed and deployed to promote equality, dignity and autonomy for everyone. This will spread benefits and counter growing asymmetries of power.
