POST Briefing on AI and Employment cites IFOW work

IFOW was pleased to contribute to the recent Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) Research Briefing on AI and Employment, and offer an external review of this briefing.

This briefing drew on, and cited, our report Reframing Automation – highlighting how the potential effects of AI on the workplace with ‘automation archetypes’, such as increased telepresence, or work intensification, and our Disruption Index – drawing out how regions of the UK with greater ‘readiness’ for AI experienced greater job creation when automation was implemented, and our survey of 5000 UK workers, which found that AI increased work intensity.

We were pleased to have one of our research leads on the workplace impacts of AI be able to offer an external review.
