Regulating AI at Work: November's meeting of the APPG

On 30th November in the House of Lords we hosted an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on the Future of Work, where speakers Felicity Burch, Florian Ostmann and Rebecca Thomas gathered with members from both industry and research backgrounds for a rich discussion on how to govern these technologies in ways that promote good work through transition.

Key themes included the importance of collaboration and partnership working; how transparency and explainability underpins good governance; the need to anticipate both negative and positive impacts; and the significance of pilots and sandboxes, alongside other levers, to inform the development of better practice and regulation.

We believe that this APPG will be an important forum for sharing and strength-testing research and practice with the aim of informing new policy ideas in this key area where change is happening at such a rapid pace. If you would like to join the group, please do contact us - we’d love to hear from you.
