IFOW are hiring! People and Resources Manager Vacancy

Are you passionate about shaping a fairer future? We are looking for an enthusiastic People and Resources Manager to help drive the Institute for the Future of Work’s mission to shape a fairer future through better work.

Job Purpose

The People and Resources manager is a really varied role with overall responsibility for the smooth running of the hybrid Institute for the Future of Work (‘IFOW'). The role has a range of administrative and support duties, which include HR administration, day to day office duties maintaining organisational systems, supporting events and diary management.

Key Responsibilities

The People Function

Supporting the Director, Head of Research and Head of Programmes with management process

Managing the full people lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding

Management of the recruitment process in collaboration with line managers

Drafting and maintenance of all documentation and records of employees, research fellows and contractors

Administering the annual performance review process

Providing support and advice to IFOW line managers on staffing and organisational issues

Providing support in resolving any HR issues

Support for management in the development of staff training and development plans in collaboration with line managers

Ensuring staff engagement and wellbeing and driving new staff initiatives

Maintaining and updating the HR policies and employee handbook

Resource Management

Championing a positive team culture and working to build and maintain a strong team that will work together towards the overall organisational goal and enable high impact and performance across all areas.

Supporting Head of Programmes with internal communications

Supporting the delivery of all events, meetings and dinners with parliamentarians, Patrons’ Circle and other stakeholders as and when required.

Being the main point of contact for the organisation, performing front-of-house duties including answering the phone, taking messages, and being responsible for physical and virtual office presence.

Developing and implementing organisational wide policies, systems and strong working practices in collaboration with line managers which allow us to operationalise our strategic plans efficiently and effectively and enable collaborative cross team working.

Management of the central infrastructure, including all logistics relating to the physical and virtual office and the procurement and management of contracts for services (such as IT support, telecoms and cleaning), ensuring smooth running of the organisation at all times.

Developing and implementing the IT roadmap, building an efficient IT infrastructure fit for the future.

Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, including management of risk registers, GDPR, Health and Safety management, fire risk, first aid and insurances.

To maintain external stakeholder and email lists

To support Communications Lead updating IFOW’s website, updating as requested.

Support for Director

Responsibility for the Director’s diary

Supporting the Director with administration and various projects throughout the year

Service and take minutes of Board meetings and other meetings as required

Attend regular staff meetings

Extend diary and event support to IFOW Trustees, Patron Circle and IFOW management as required

General duties

Perform other duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Director and Head of Programmes

Be prepared to work occasional evenings and weekends as required

To act at all times in the best interests of IFOW

Job Vacancy: People and Resources Manager, IFOW

Job title: People and Resources Manager

Location: Flexible: remote or office based (The Exchange, Somerset House, London)

Hours: 28 hrs per week, flexibly over 4 or 5 days per week

Reporting to: Head of Programmes

Salary: £32-38K pro rata depending on experience
